The NASCAR Cup Series will begin their playoffs this weekend at Darlington Raceway. One of their crown jewel events in the Southern 500 will take center stage in South Carolina.
Last season, Chase Briscoe was victorious, sending his team to the playoffs with a walk-off win. In the spring iteration of NASCAR’s trip to Darlington, Denny Hamlin got to Victory Lane. Both drivers will be pining for the win, along with many other talented wheelmen in this weekend’s iteration of the race.
Looking ahead to the green flag, BetMGM Sportsbook has us covered with the odds. See if your favorite driver has a shot at the dub in South Carolina this weekend, in what should be an exhilarating race.
Kyle Larson (+500)
Daytona is usually pretty unkind to Kyle Larson. However, it wasn’t too bad to him this past weekend, as he notched a top-ten, finishing P6 in Florida.
Over the course of his Cup Series career, Larson has found immense success at Darlington. He has three runner-up finishes, but those all came before his first win at the track in September of 2023. We’ll see if win No. 2 is on the docket this time around.
Tyler Reddick (+500)
Tyler Reddick finished P21 at Daytona, so he had to sweat out whether he’d be in the playoffs or not. Despite not winning a race, last year’s regular season champion made it into the Top 16.
Now, he’s one of the favorites heading into Darlington. He’s never won at the track, but he’s always in the mix, and it’s evident Bet MGM is thinking the 23XI Racing wheelman could get win No. 1 in South Carolina this weekend.
Denny Hamlin (+600)
Denny Hamlin wasn’t much of a factor at Daytona this past weekend. He ended up finishing P25 when it was all said and done, an uncharacteristic performance from the Joe Gibbs Racing star.
This will be Hamlin’s 27th time racing at Darlington. He has five wins at the track. We’ll see if Hamlin can start the playoffs with a sweep of The Lady in Black this season.
Ryan Blaney (+600)
Ryan Blaney closed out the regular season with a bang. He’ll begin his hunt for his second career Cup Series title fresh off his second win of the season at Daytona this past weekend.
Darlington was unkind to Blaney in 2024. He finished P36 and P37 in the two trips the Cup Series made to South Carolina. However, he finished fifth earlier this season, so the former NASCAR Cup Series champion is hoping to continue hitting his stride.
William Byron (+600)
William Byron didn’t have much to race for at Daytona, already having the regular season title locked up for the Cup Series. He ended up finishing P19 when the checkered flag waved.
The reigning back-to-back Daytona 500 winner has one win at Darlington, and that came in 2023. He’s usually more than solid in South Carolina, like when he finished as the runner-up back in April, so expect Byron to be a factor.
Chase Briscoe (+1000)
Chase Briscoe wanted to notch another win before the regular season came to a close, but he couldn’t get the job done at Daytona. He came home P23 when the checkered flag waved.
Of course, Briscoe won the last Darlington fall race, so it’s easy to see why he’s one of the favorites this time around. Don’t count out the No. 19 as he looks to make a run at the title in Year 1 with Joe Gibbs Racing.
Christopher Bell (+1200)
Christopher Bell notched a solid P13 at Daytona this past weekend. It was a great finish to a stellar regular season for Bell, as he looks to earn his first championship this season.
Moving forward to Darlington, Bell has never won at the South Carolina-based track. He did finish P3 at the venue last September though. Ironically, he finished third once again this past spring. Maybe he’s figured something out that he can use this weekend.
Kyle Busch (+1600)
Kyle Busch couldn’t make a miracle charge to the playoffs once again in 2025. His winless streak is continuing, and morale isn’t exactly high for the No. 8 Chevrolet team after a P33 finish at Daytona.
Perhaps Darlington could bring him some luck. He has a ton of great finishes at the track, including a win. We’ll see if he can give his team something to cheer for in South Carolina.
