FSU opened up game week preparation for Alabama on Tuesday morning with a 26 period practice.

Afterwards, FSU linebackers coach and special teams coordinator John Papuchis was asked about the challenges of preparing for an Alabama attack with a new quarterback in Ty Simpson.

“You do two things,” said Papuchis. “You look at it on its face value in terms of what they did and how they did it including the quarterback run game. Then you take the next step and project from a coaching standpoint and see if some of those plays will show up in wildcat.”

Florida State will open the 2025 season in a newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium when they host Alabama on Saturday.

Florida State’s high school recruiting class for 2025 finished inside the On3 Top 20 team rankings and features DL Kevin Wynn who earned accolades at the US Navy All-Star Game — but Wynn is out vs. Alabama due to an undisclosed injury.
