Manchester United have confirmed their fourth signing of the summer after the capture of another talented youngster.

The Fantastic Four

The Red Devils have already added Matheus Cunha (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Diego Leon (Cerro Porteño) and Harley Emsden-James (Southampton) to their ranks this month.

However, only Cunha – the 26-year-old Brazil international who will take over the number ten shirt from Marcus Rashford – is expected to play a prominent role in Ruben Amorim’s first-team squad.

Negotiations are ongoing with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo with confidence amongst executives at Old Trafford that an agreement will be struck for the 25-year-old forward.

But United’s focus since INEOS assumed control of the club has been as geared towards signing the best young talent from across the globe, evidence by 18-year-old Leon’s capture from Paraguay and 16-year-old Emsden-James from the south coast of England, as it has been senior players.

And now, another starlet has been added to the ranks at the Theatre of Dreams – 18-year-old striker Enzo Kana-Biyik, although he will not remain in Manchester for very long this summer.

A Transfer then a Loan

United had reached an agreement for Kana-Biyik towards the end of last season, beating out competition from continental rivals to secure the youngster’s signature.

Tweet: “We are excited to announce the signing of Enzo Kana-Biyik 🤝 The young forward will spend the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Lausanne-Sport — best of luck, Enzo!”

The France youth international scored nine goals in 18 appearances for the u-19 side at Le Havre’s famed academy.

United’s website describes the 18-year-old as an “exciting young forward” who signs on a free transfer as his contract in France expired this summer.

But the plan for Kana-Biyik is to utilise INEOS’ sporting network to aid his development. He will join Swiss Super League side, FC Lausanne-Sport – another club in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s portfolio, along with OGC Nice in France.

Kana-Biyik will receive more first-team opportunities in Lausanne than in Manchester at a crucial stage of his development as a forward.

The path towards Old Trafford starts first in the Stade de la Tuilière for United’s newest wonderkid, with Kana-Biyik pictured holding his adopted side’s shirt below.
