Inside Texas has covered the depth chart and ongoing competitions all offseason. Today, that coverage culminated in a "best guess" on Texas first, second, and third-teams ahead of Saturday's game against Ohio State.
On Monday, Inside Texas Football broke down the projected Texas depth chart. While this isn’t the exact depth chart the Texas staff is working off of, you can rest assured it’s very close.
This depth chart was constructed with recent information in mind. If players aren’t listed it’s because they’ve hardly practiced of late. Since the below graphics were made, it’s become known that tight end Emaree Winston has returned to practice.
Also omitted is Stanford transfer wide receiver Emmett Mosley. Steve Sarkisian discussed the sophomore earlier today:
“I think we all would want him to be able to have been going the whole time with us right now,” Sarkisian said. “He’s a very good football player, a guy who had an immense amount of production in only nine games at Stanford a year ago. I think that for him, the growth is going to be as the season continues to go.
“I always think back to Matt Golden last year. Going into the season, I don’t think I even fielded a question about him for the first couple of games. By the end of the year, he was the topic of discussion. His evolution as the season goes on is going to be more and more important as he gets more comfortable with us.”
Here’s an in-depth conversation on the depth chart:
