Manchester United are looking to sign a new head of senior recruitment as they plan a major revamp of their recruitment department.
This is according to The Telegraph who report the Red Devils are also looking for heads of emerging talent in regional areas.
The appointments are said to be part of the ongoing restructuring and attempted modernisation of the scouting network.
However, the new changes could see long-serving scout Simon Wells leave the club. Wells has been a valued member of the United team for many managers over the years, including Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Manchester giants will be using the services of Sportsology Group, a sports intelligence consultancy, for the new hires.
It is said that the new head of senior recruitment will report to Christopher Vivell, who became the club’s director of recruitment in February following an interim spell in the position.
Vivell, who has previously worked at Chelsea and RB Leipzig, oversees United’s global recruitment operation, scouting structure and emerging talent. The 38-year-old reports to Jason Wilcox, who became the club’s director of football after Dan Ashworth’s departure.
Recruitment has remained one of the biggest issues of Man Utd over the years. They have spent vast amounts of money on talents that completely failed to fulfill their potential.

United are now ready to cut their losses on the duo by selling them this summer, but their current wages are proving to be a significant stumbling block.
