It’s Georgia Game Week!

After all the waiting, we’ve finally made it, and now, the Georgia Bulldogs are gearing up for their first game of the season against a most interesting Marshall team. While the Dawgs have clear advantages at spots across the field, the Thundering Herd are one of the more unique stories in college football this year, with a roster made up of many transfers. In fact, there are several the Dawgs will know well, such as former Peach State standouts Tony Mathis and Carlos Del Rio. While it’s not expected to be a major challenge for Kirby Smart and company, it’ll be an interesting matchup to open things up and a chance to learn plenty about the Dawgs this year.

Best Non-Georgia Team this Year?

We’re looking around the league to get a feel on who may be the biggest competition for the Bulldogs, and there are several high level contenders that have our eye. From a compelling wide receiver corp in Tuscaloosa to a loaded roster in Austin, there’s plenty of talent in this always deep conference. For Rusty Mansell, Alabama’s pedigree is pulling some big weight, particularly behind an impressive offensive front. For Jake Rowe, the Bayou Bengals have a returning quarterback and some compelling experience. Plus, Brian Kelly has some major expectations around his season. Texas A&M isn’t to be slept on either…

Who’s set for the Heisman?

Jake Rowe is looking north to Ohio State and Jeremiah Smith as the front runner, and Rusty Mansell is on the same page at this point. Could Garrett Nussmeier or LaNorris Sellers shake things up on that front? Maybe Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love has the juice to pull it down? The boys offer up their picks.

Who is the Bulldogs’ breakout player this fall?

It should be no huge surprise that Rusty Mansell feels Zachariah Branch could be up to the task of 1000 yards for Georgia this fall, with the former No. 1 receiver recruit sporting big play ability every time he touches the ball. Jake Rowe, meanwhile, is buying the Ellis Robinson hype in a big way and believes the former No. 1 cornerback may have a leg up going into this season. Robinson’s natural ability at the spot should translate well, and the consistency seems to be coming clear.

What about the MVP of Georgia in 2025?

Jake Rowe has a very intriguing pick here in one of Georgia’s offensive linemen, but a solid performance by the big guy could well position him to be the all-important straw that stirs the drink for the Dawgs. That’s Drew Bobo, and his play at center may well determine how the Dawgs live and die. Rusty, meanwhile, is riding with the popular pick of Gunner Stockton, and his reasonings are rightly multiple when it comes to the Georgia signal caller.
