Freddy Peralta continues to set the pace on the mound for Milwaukee, as he worked another pair of scoreless starts this week against the Cubs and Giants. In total, he spanned 11 innings with 12 strikeouts, allowing three hits and seven walks. That also stretches his scoreless streak to 18 1/3 innings, as he’s allowed just one run across 22 innings this month. His ERA for the season now sits at 2.68.

Top Hitting Performance of the Week

Brice Turang continues to impress in the month of August, as he led the squad with 11 hits this week, including a pair of homers, driving in six runs and scoring five. Injury Notes & Roster Moves

  • First baseman Rhys Hoskins and outfielder Jackson Chourio were both sent on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Nashville, with returns for both likely in the next couple of weeks.
  • RHP Chad Patrick was recalled for two different starts this week. He started the first game of Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Cubs and Sunday against the Giants as manager Pat Murphy opted to give Brandon Woodruff, still fairly fresh off missing well over a season with a shoulder injury, an extra day of rest.
  • RHP Carlos Rodriguez was recalled and pitched multiple innings in relief against San Francisco on Saturday as the Brewers trailed late. He was optioned back to Triple-A to open up space for Patrick ahead of Sunday’s game.
  • 1B/OF Jake Bauers was activated from his injured list stint on Friday, with SS Joey Ortiz trading places with him as he went down with a strained hamstring. The team is hopeful Ortiz’s stay on the IL will be a short one, though hamstrings can be pesky.
  • In minor league news, the Brewers signed LHP Tucker Davidson to a minor league contract. Davidson, 29, was a 19th-round pick by the Braves in 2016 and has made 56 appearances (17 starts) across five MLB seasons, with his last appearance coming last year with the Orioles. He went unsigned all season before the Brewers picked him up on Friday. He’s been assigned to Triple-A Nashville, where he made his debut over the weekend.
