Tracking the roster moves as all 32 teams cut down to 53 players
One of the more difficult parts of the NFL season has arrived.
Cutdown time.
All the preseason games are in the books, and by 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, August 26, all 32 teams must reduce their active rosters to 53 ahead of the regular season.
That means some players are going to realize a life-long dream of making an NFL roster, while other players are set to see their own dream hit a major stumbling block. But sometimes carving out a career in the NFL means finding your right fit, and when one door closes, another tends to open.
We’ll be covering all the cuts over the next two days, and you can follow along as they happen. Below you will find links to every SB Nation NFL team site and their team-specific trackers. We’ll also have live reaction for you to the major moves as they are made.

Reaction to major moves
Shilo Sanders waived by Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rookie safety Shilo Sanders, an undrafted free agent signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was waived by the team on Sunday.
The move came less than 24 hours after Sanders was ejected from Tampa Bay’s final preseason game, when he threw a punch at Buffalo Bills tight end Zach Davidson. That ejection caught the ire of Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles after the game. “You can’t throw punches in this league. I mean, that’s inexcusable. They’re gonna get you every time. Gotta grow from that,” Bowles said to the media after the game.
Sanders faced a numbers crunch in the Tampa Bay safety, as he fought for a roster spot along with Kaevon Merriweather and Rashad Wisdom. Now he is hoping to be claimed on waivers, according to his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.
Tyler Huntley waived by Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are poised to roll into the season with four quarterbacks.
Cleveland waived veteran Tyler Huntley on Sunday. According to Adam Schefter, this has been the team’s plan, to keep Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders on the 53-man roster.
Huntley likely finds a landing spot, given the standard need for veteran quarterback’s around the NFL.
