NC State’s season-opening tilt against East Carolina is almost here. The Wolfpack is set to clash with the Pirates in front of a sold-out Carter-Finley Stadium crowd on Thursday night in Raleigh, a rematch of last year’s Military Bowl.
Here’s everything you need to know on how to watch, listen or stream the Pack’s first game of the 2025 campaign.
What time does the game start?
NC State vs. ECU begins at 7:00 p.m. ET.
What television channel is the NC State game on?
The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network. Wes Durham (play-by-play), Steve Addazio (analyst) and Dana Boyle (sideline) will be on the call.
Where can I find the NC State game on the radio?
While you’re reading TheWolfpacker.com’s in-game coverage, you can tune in to the game on the radio. NC State vs. ECU will be broadcast on WRAL-FM in Raleigh. Radio pregame coverage begins two hours prior to kickoff with Matt Chazanow (play-by-play), Johnny Evans (analyst) and Tony Haynes (sideline) on the broadcast.

NC State vs. ECU game notes
– This is the 34th all-time meeting between the Pirates and Wolfpack. The Pack holds a 19-14 lead in the all-time series, but the Pirates won the most-recent meeting: a 26-21 win over NC State in the Military Bowl at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium on Dec. 28, 2024. This year’s game will mark the 12th time that these two programs have met to open the season.
– NC State special assistant to the head coach Ruffin McNeill, a 1980 graduate of ECU, has become a critical part of the Wolfpack staff since he was hired in 2020. The former Pirates head coach is a sounding board for coaches and players, becoming one of the most-loved figures on staff. Read more about him in our in-depth feature HERE.
– The Wolfpack has won 30 of its 32 non-conference home games inside Carter-Finley Stadium since Dave Doeren took over in 2013. NC State lost to ECU 42-28 on Nov. 23, 2013 in the coach’s first season in Raleigh, while the Wolfpack also fell to No. 10 Notre Dame 45-24 in 2023. NC State has won 27 of its last 28 non-conference home games entering the 2025 campaign.
