Aston Villa and West Ham United are among several clubs to submit proposals to sign Adrien Rabiot (30) from Marseille before the end of the summer transfer window, according to a report from L’Équipe. The France international midfielder has been transfer-listed by the Ligue 1 club following an altercation involving Jonathan Rowe (22).
Rabiot’s future remains unknown. The Frenchman trained with Marseille on Sunday despite being told that he was made available for transfer and should find a new club. Roberto De Zerbi was a part of the group that decided to allow the 30-year-old to leave. However, after OM’s 5-2 victory against Paris FC, it appears the former Brighton head coach had changed his mind and was hoping to rebuild his relationship with the PSG academy graduate. Villa and the Hammers could be looking to take advantage of the Les Phocéens midfielder’s complicated situation.
No contact between Rabiot and OM
One issue that would currently prevent the midfielder from reintegrating himself at the Stade Vélodrome or even forcing through a move elsewhere is that, after the former Juventus midfielder’s transfer-listing, communications have broken down between the player’s representatives and director Medhi Benatia.
