Pollard powers Knight Riders to victory over Kings

Kieron Pollard struck 65 from 29 balls to set up a comfortable 18-run win for Trinbago Knight Riders over Saint Lucia Kings in the Caribbean Premier League. Pollard's knock included four fours and six sixes as the Knight Riders posted 183-7, with support from Colin Munro's 30-ball 43 at the top of the order. Munro dominated an opening stand of 47 in four overs with former England batter Alex Hales, who fell cheaply for 10, before Pollard dominated the middle overs alongside captain Nicholas Pooran, who made 34.

The Kings started positively in reply with Tim Seifert and Johnson Charles adding 74 for the first wicket, but the innings fell away after they were dismissed for 35 and 47 respectively.

Usman Tariq was the pick of the bowlers with 2-20 as the Kings fell short on 165-6.

The win lifts the Knight Riders to third in the table with two wins from three while the Kings' first defeat leaves them in fifth.
