Troy Omeire, Texas > Arizona State > UNLV
Omeire has popped up on the Rebels’ roster with Dan Mullen. He was on Arizona State’s Big 12 championship team and logged five catches last season.
Xavion Alford, Texas > USC > Arizona State
One of several former Longhorns on the Sun Devils’ roster, Alford recorded 85 tackles and two interceptions last season.
Prince Dorbah, Texas > Arizona State
Entering his sixth college season, Dorbah has 42 tackles and 9.0 sacks in his two seasons at Arizona State.
Jaylen Garth, Texas > Houston > UTSA
Garth started nine games and played in all 13 with most of his snaps at right tackle for the Roadrunners. He’ll start in San Antonio this season.
Logan Parr, Texas > SMU
Parr started most of SMU’s games at left guard last year on his way to a third-team All-ACC selection. He’s back on the Hilltop.
Dajon Harrison, Texas > UConn > Utah Tech
Harrison has not recorded any stats at Utah Tech.
Sawyer Goram-Welch, Texas > Coastal Carolina
Last year, Goram-Welch logged 32 tackles with one tackle for loss in 12 games for the Chanticleers. He should start at nose tackle for CCU.
Ishmael Ibraheem, Texas > Marshall > Southern Miss
Ibraheem followed Charles Huff to Hattiesburg. He has six career tackles.
Terrence Cooks II, Texas > TCU > Texas State
Cooks II is in San Marcos now after logging seven tackles at TCU. He missed all of 2022 at TCU after suffering a preseason injury. Cooks II was a member of Texas’ class of 2021.
Jamier Johnson, Texas > Indiana > UCLA
Part of Indiana’s run to the CFP, Johnson logged 10 starts in two seasons and had 40 tackles and an interception in his Hoosiers career. His new start in Westwood brings him much closer to home.
DJ Harris, Texas > USF
Harris finally became an impactful player in 2024. He was the Bulls’ starter at B-backer last year and had 26 tackles and 3.5 TFL. He’ll be a big part of Alex Golesh’s defense.
Jaden Alexis, Texas > USF
Alexis took a medical redshirt last season following a 2023 where he had 23 receptions for 280 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulls.
Casey Cain, Texas > UNLV > Liberty
After limited seeing playing time in the 2023 season for Texas, Cain went to Las Vegas and caught seven passes for 136 yards and two scores. He will be a big part of Liberty’s attempt to win Conference USA.
Terrance Brooks, Texas > Illinois > ???
Brooks was dismissed from Illinois in the offseason and is no longer in football.
Brenen Thompson, Texas > Oklahoma > Mississippi State
Thompson is reunited with former OU offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby in Starkville. He’s in line to be one of the Bulldogs’ top receivers.
BJ Allen Jr., Texas > North Texas
Allen had eight tackles and a forced fumble last season.
Justice Finkley, Texas > Kansas
Finkley is entering his first season in Lawrence. He was recently named a captain for the Jayhawks.
J’Mond Tapp, Texas > Arizona State > Southern Miss
According to Southern Miss, Tapp did not play at Arizona State in his one year in Tempe in 2024.
Jaray Bledsoe, Texas > Mississippi State
Bledsoe is entering his first season at Mississippi State and is one of the players expected to contribute heavily for the Bulldogs in 2025.
Kris Ross, Texas > Nevada > Sacramento State
After one season with former Longhorns assistant Jeff Choate at Nevada, where Ross had 29 tackles with 2.5 sacks, Ross joined another former Texas assistant Brennan Marion in Sacramento for the 2025 season.
Maalik Murphy, Texas > Duke > Oregon State
Murphy spent the 2024 season as Duke’s starter, completing 60.3% of his passes for 2933 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He also rushed for two scores. Duke elected to bring another quarterback in via the portal, so Murphy moved to Corvallis where he’s the starter.
Austin Jordan, Texas > TCU
Jordan played in 13 games last year and notched 16 tackles for the Horned Frogs.
Aaron Bryant, Texas > Vanderbilt
After three years and two tackles with the Longhorns, Bryant joined the Commodores ahead of the 2025 season and is expected to be a significant part of the Vandy defense.
Larry Turner-Gooden, Texas > San Jose State
Turner-Gooden had nine tackles and a forced fumble for the Spartans last year. He will see Texas again when SJSU travels to Austin early in the season.
Derrick Brown, Texas > Texas State > ???
Brown committed to the Bobcats after the 2023 season but it does not appear as if he suited up for TXST.
Malik Agbo, Texas > West Virginia
After 32 appearances at Texas, Agbo transferred to West Virginia. According to WVSports.com, he’s the second-string left tackle.
Trevell Johnson, Texas > ULM
Johnson posted two tackles in nine games in 2023 for the Warhawks before leaving football and joining the US Army.
Xavion Brice, Texas > North Texas
Brice played in seven games last year with three tackles for UNT.
Zac Swanson, Texas > Arizona State
Swanson made the most of his homecoming, and his bio for Arizona State says he “showed his grit in shaking off a nagging shoulder injury that plagued him throughout the season to still appear in 13 games for ASU.” He recorded 17 tackles on the year with 2.0 coming for loss and 0.5 sacks.
Savion Red, Texas > Nevada > Sacramento State
Red rushed for 687 yards and eight scores for Choate’s Nevada team in 2024, but entered the portal again after the season and reunited with Marion in Sacramento.
Agiye Hall, Alabama > Texas > UCF > Sacramento State?
A whirlwind career that started at Alabama, continued at Texas, took a hiatus, then proceeded at Central Florida appeared to have found a home in Sacramento this winter when Hall committed to the Hornets. He is not listed on the Sacramento State online roster.
Johntay Cook, Texas > Washington > Syracuse
Cook was a five-star in the 2023 class who had 16 catches for 273 yards and two scores in two seasons for Texas. He transferred to Washington but encountered off-field troubles before ever playing a snap for the Huskies. He’s currently in Syracuse with Fran Brown’s program.
Tausili Akana, Texas > BYU
After two seasons with Texas where he recorded one tackle, Akana transferred to BYU
Derion Gullette, Texas > Mississippi State
Gullette only had two tackles in his Texas career and elected to transfer to Mississippi State. There, he’ll be a significant part of the defense for Coleman Hutzler and the Bulldogs.
Sydir Mitchell, Texas > LSU
Mitchell left Texas after recording one tackle in his two seasons, electing to follow Bo Davis to LSU. Davis eventually left for the NFL. It’s unclear what Mitchell’s role in 2025 will be for the Tigers.
S’Maje Burrell, Texas > Sam Houston > North Texas
After getting in some trouble in Austin, Burrell recorded six tackles for the Bearkats during their 10-win season. He and several other SHSU teammates followed defensive coordinator Skyler Cassity to Denton to play for the Mean Green in 2025.
Billy Walton, Texas > SMU
Walton appeared in nine games and made 11 tackles as a defensive end in the Mustang defense in 2024.
Payton Kirkland, Texas > Colorado > UAB
Kirkland has yet to play in college. He does have one of the most cluttered commitment graphics ever.
Jalen Catalon, Arkansas > Texas > UNLV > Missouri
Catalon is in his seventh season and is back in the SEC at Missouri following a quality year at UNLV with Barry Odom. He joined the SEC program and will be part of the Tigers’ defensive efforts.
Freddie Dubose Jr., Texas > ???
Dubose never played a snap for Texas and does not appear to be on a college football roster entering 2025.
Michael Kern, Texas > Cal
Kern was set to back up Jack Bouwmeester in 2025 but elected to enter the portal. He’s likely to punt for the Golden Bears in 2025.
Amari Niblack, Alabama > Texas > Texas A&M
Mike Elko and company will try to get the most out of Niblack. During his one season at Texas, Niblack logged five catches for 33 yards. In 2023 for Alabama, Niblack had 327 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Jay’Vion Cole, Cal Poly > San Jose State > Texas > Arizona
Cole was a special teams player and depth piece in 2024 for the Longhorns and used his time with Texas to ensure his stay at the Power Conference level. He’ll be playing for former Texas assistant coach Craig Naivar.
Tiaoalii Savea, UCLA > Arizona > Texas > Arizona
After a stop in Austin, Savea returned to Arizona and logged a handful of tackles in 2024. He’ll be a key part of the Wildcats’ efforts in 2025.
Kendrick Blackshire, Alabama > Texas > UTSA
Blackshire is in his second season in San Antonio and is recovering from an injury that knocked him out of most of the 2024 season.
