Georgia is one of the top contenders for Cardinal Gibbons (NC) 2027 four-star cornerback Xavier Hasan.

Hasan, the nation’s No. 55 overall prospect, has the Bulldogs ranked near the top of his list.

“It’s been pretty good,” Hasan said about his relationship with Georgia. “They’ve been recruiting me pretty hard. I talk with Coach (Prather) Hudson a lot. I really like the way they break down their schemes and the way they coach.”

Hasan has already been to Athens twice and plans to return this fall for the Bulldogs’ matchup against Texas.

The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect is ready to experience the atmosphere at Sanford Stadium.

“(It’s going to be) electric, probably a prime time game,” Hasan said. “It’s going to be great, so I’m excited for it.”

Hasan has a few boxes he wants the Bulldogs to check off while he’s in town.

“(I want to see) how the fans treat the players, how the coaches are pre-game, how they talk to the players, get them right mentally. And just trying to see if it really fits me,” Hasan said. “They have a very good chance of competing for titles. It’s not a big decision in my recruiting process, but if it’s a fit, then it’s a fit. I don’t really care about wins; I’m trying to develop and go to the league.”

Hasan also wants to see how essential academics are, as he believes they are more important to him than NIL.

“I’m trying to see their strengths and academics, (mainly) how I would (fit in) off the field, (not just) on the field,” the four-star defensive back said. “(NIL), it’s been kind of crazy, but I just try to keep my head down, keep grinding. I’m not really focused on the NIL and stuff. Just trying to find the fit for me.”

Georgia is recruiting Hasan as a defensive back because the staff likes his versatility, so he also wants to see how they rotate their players around the secondary against the Longhorns. He said the Bulldogs like his versatility.

“I like it. I can play all five, so it really doesn’t bother me playing nickel,” Hasan said when asked about playing every position in the secondary. “The run fits, so I’ve just gotta fit my gaps and blitz them. Honestly, I still like playing in coverage, but I can do all of it. So, I like doing both.”

Hasan also plans to visit Tennessee, Florida, UNC, Penn State, Florida State, NC State, Duke, and Notre Dame this fall.
