The Rebels open against Georgia State a week from Saturday. ESPN has Ole Miss favored in 11 of 12 games, according to its matchup predictor percentages.
The Rebels are closing out their final week of fall camp practices. They’ve won 10 or more games in each of the last three seasons.
“We’re still in fall camp,” Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said this week. “We have some periods of Georgia State. We don’t start school. I feel like normally we have this week right here. So, that keeps us more in camp mode longer than it has.”
Ole Miss has a new alternate helmet for the third year in a row.
Realtree is in its second season sponsoring and developing the helmet. This year’s design is an icy-white camouflage pattern. The 2023 light blue and white ocean camouflage pattern was voted Helmet of the Year by UNISWAG. Ole Miss is 2-0 in alternate helmets.
Ole Miss will wear its new lids Week 10 against No. 13 South Carolina on November 1. The Rebels are one of just three SEC teams since 2021 with 39 or more wins.
The others are Georgia and Alabama.
“Obviously we’re going to be a contender,” Rebel safety and LSU transfer Sage Ryan said. “The coaches are confident in us and we’re confident in us as well. We’re confident in the coaches. I feel like we’re all as one. We’re all one piece and leaning on each other to do everything right and win a lot of games while doing that.”
“We want to win,” Rebel tight end Dae’Quan Wright said. “We’re going to keep the winning tradition going, and we’re going to have fun with it.”
