The Yanks keep going deep.
New York Yankees set 2 home run records in same game — one tying Aaron Boone originally appeared on The Sporting News
The New York Yankees just keep on going deep.
On Wednesday night, they made multiple forms of home run history.
The first tied an MLB record. The Yankees have hit 14 home runs over their last two games, with nine on Tuesday and five on Wednesday.
Those 14 homers tied the MLB mark for most in a two-game span ever, per MLB Network's Sarah Langs.
But that's not all. The team they tied was the 1999 Cincinnati Reds. And the first of the 14 homers hit by those Reds came from Aaron Boone, who now manages the Yankees.

The other record set Wednesday came in the 10th inning and was some history for the guys in pinstripes.
Before this game, the Yankees had never hit back-to-back home runs in extra innings.
But then Giancarlo Stanton and Austin Wells did it.
Considering how many prodigious sluggers the Yanks have had through the years, it's astounding that this is the first time ever, per NY Yankees Stats.

Stanton's was also a pinch-hit homer, the first one for the Yankees since Brian McCann did it in 2014.
It's always really cool when the Yankees make home run history in some form, because they may be the franchise most associated with the long ball, dating all the way back to Babe Ruth.
On this night, they harnessed their inner Bambino and made some home run magic, and it was pretty darn cool.
