Kenny Pickett makes his return, and Isaiah Bond debuts.
Day 15 of Cleveland Browns training camp took place Tuesday. Here is our recap of the session.
Cleveland Browns Training Camp Report – Day 15 (8/19/25)
1. Regular Season Restrictions: There aren’t many days remaining in “training camp,” but the Browns have also shifted to “regular season reporting rules.” That includes things like the following, which means even fewer details than we’ve been getting:
Do not report on offensive or defensive strategy without addressing questions to the head coach. This includes describing formations, personnel groups, deployment of personnel, starting lineups, players working in first-team, second-team or third-team, or non-conventional plays.
No reporting during the open portion of practice. This includes tweeting, blogging, radio updates or phone interviews (exception made for tweeting on injured players return to practice participation).
2. Guest at Practice: Actor Chris Meloni was a guest at Browns training camp on Tuesday, which was the first training camp session since the team’s preseason game on Saturday against the Philadelphia Eagles. Meloni has a couple of potential ties to why he was at practice: he is reportedly set to play an NFL head coach in an upcoming TV series, and he also attended the same college as Browns QB Shedeur Sanders.
3. Drill of the Day: Here are the running backs securing the ball as they run through “defenders” several times to also keep their endurance up:
4. Pickett Returns to 11-on-11: QB Kenny Pickett participated in some 11-on-11 drills. We know that QB Joe Flacco is the team’s starting quarterback now, so now the drama lays in whether the team will keep all four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, or if there is still a competition going. I’m still putting my money on Cleveland hoping another team will trade a conditional draft pick for Pickett.
As for QB Shedeur Sanders, he only did some warmup throws at the beginning of practice.
5. Those Darn Shoulder Injuries: CB Greg Newsome has already missed a few weeks of practice after coming down hard on his shoulder, and now, we have CB Denzel Ward with a banged up shoulder too after going up against WR Jerry Jeudy:
After practice, Jordan Schultz said that it’s not believed that Ward suffered anything serious. He noted that he’ll undergo more tests, but the belief is that he’ll be fine. We’ll see what that means from a practice perspective; because I think the team somewhat conveyed that Newsome was fine too, but they also took it easy with him.
6. A New Face: The Browns just signed WR Isaiah Bond, and he is already taking part in practice. Here he is on the receiving end of a warmup strike from QB Kenny Pickett:
7. Brownies: OT Cornelius Lucas (ankle) did not practice after getting hurt against the Eagles. … CB Greg Newsome (shoulder) will be working his way back. … WR Isaiah Bond talked to the media, as he will be worked into the offense.
8. Next Up: The Browns will practice on Wednesday at 1:45 pm.
