Bud Light College Football limited edition cans

On Wednesday, Bud Light officially released their 2025 line of limited-edition college football-themed cans. Bud Light partnered with 28 teams this year, two more than in 2024, after fans showed love toward the collection last fall.

“The next-level excitement, passion and energy that college football fans bring to the table continues to raise the bar higher for us as a brand. Bud Light has a decades-long history of delivering fans unforgettable football experiences, laugh-out-loud content and great-tasting beer every season,” Bud Light’s senior vice president of marketing, Todd Allen, said.

Bud Light partnered with numerous Power Four programs, including Texas, Florida, Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. However, it also made sure to include a few schools normally outside of the spotlight, such as Coastal Carolina, North Dakota State and Sam Houston State.

Along with its limited-edition line of cans, Bud Light announced it teamed up with comedian Shane Gillis again for an ad campaign that will run through the college football season, beginning today. The ad campaign will air on ABC, NBC, ESPN and FOX.

This ad campaign is Gillis’ third with Bud Light. The partnership began last year with Bud Light’s inaugural college football campaign. Bud Light and Gillis also worked together on a Super Bowl commercial.

“Shane is a great friend of Bud Light, a true football fan and was an instrumental part of our college football campaign last year,” Allen said. “It was a no brainer to have him co-create our campaign for this season and turn up the laughs for college football fans once again. Plus, no one knows better than Shane the best way to spend game day is with friends and an ice-cold Bud Light.”

Bud Light’s line of team-themed cans will not only be a collector’s piece for the college football faithful, but a potential golden ticket. This year, each limited-edition can will have a QR code on it fans can scan for a chance to win a trip to a college game of their choice, a generous Fanatics gift card and a meet-and-greet with Gillis himself.

Bud Light will also be surprising fans at college bars across the nation, bringing former college football players, such as Bussin’ With The Boys hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan, along for the fun on special occasions. At these pop-up events, fans can compete in Bud Light’s Football Face-Off Tournament for an opportunity to win tickets to the Super Bowl.

The colorful cans are only another reason for fans to be excited about the upcoming season. On Aug. 23, Iowa State and Kansas State, who both have custom Bud Light cans, will officially kick off the 2025 campaign with a showdown in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic.
