Whilst talks between SCO Angers and Stade Rennais are ongoing, Esteban Lepaul (25) has agreed terms with the latter, according to a report from RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins.
Lepaul carved out a spot in the line-up at Angers over the course of last season, finishing the season as the club’s top goal-scorer in Ligue 1. The Frenchman has begun this campaign well, too, netting the only goal in a 1-0 win over Paris FC on the opening day of the Ligue 1 season.
His performances have caught the eye of Rennes. As reported by Foot Mercato earlier this week, the Breton club have even submitted a bid worth €10m. However, this falls considerably short of Angers’ valuation of their forward, which L’Équipe believes to be €25m.
However, that has not deterred Rennes. As per Hawkins, talks between the clubs are ongoing. In the meantime, Lepaul has agreed on a four-year deal with Les Rennais.
