The Big O is staying in Salt Lake City, re-signing with the Utah Jazz on a two-way contract after putting up historic G League numbers with the franchise.
Oscar Tshiebwe appeared in 14 games for the Jazz with one start last season, averaging 7.6 points on 60.0 percent from the field, along with 8.7 rebounds in 18.2 minutes per contest. That included 10-plus rebounds in eight outings with four double-doubles, picking up where he left off as an all-time Kentucky Wildcat playing two seasons in Lexington.
During his time with the Salt Lake City Stars in 2024-25, Tshiebwe led the G League in all rebounding categories, averaging 19.0 total rebounds — 10.7 defensive and 8.3 offensive — along with 17.1 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 steals in 42 games (all starts). That record-setting campaign led to 2025 All-NBA G League First Team honors, finishing with the most 20-20 games in a single season (eight) and the most offensive rebounds in a single season (305) while also becoming just the third player in G League history to record a 30-rebound game (March 3).
Is that good? That sounds good.
You guys know what he did in Lexington, becoming a Consensus National Player of the Year as a junior and earning All-America accolades in both 2022 and 2023. He was also the SEC Player of the Year in 2022 and a two-time First Team All-SEC member, averaging 17.4 points and 15.1 rebounds as a junior and 16.5 points and 13.7 rebounds as a senior.
By signing a two-way deal with the Jazz, Tshiebwe will be active for up to 50 games in Utah. Teams may have up to three players signed to two-way deals, limited to those with three or fewer years of NBA service. Those contracts are worth half the value of a minimum salary ($636,435 in 2025-26) with up to half of base compensation ($318,218) guaranteed if not waived by the first day of the regular season.
The Kentucky legend’s pro career continues.
Keep it rolling, Big O.
