Three Licking County players help Ohio Bison 15U Kopachy take title in Dayton

A strong showing for Licking Heights' Peyton Clum on the mound allowed the Ohio Bison 15U Kopachy to rally for a semifinal win.

The Ohio Bison 15U Kopachy beat the Redlegs OKI 3-0 on July 6 to win the Best of Ohio’s Best of the Midwest Tournament in Dayton.

The Bison, which include Licking Heights' Peyton Clum, Newark's Michael Kopachy and Granville's Max Hall, won all five of their games to move to 21-6 on the season. Ridgewood's Maison Kiser threw a four-hit shutout with six strikeouts in the championship game.

Clum previously struck out seven and allowed no earned runs in 3⅔ innings of relief as the Bison rallied for a 12-8 victory against the PYO Patriots in the semifinals. Clum is 3-1 with a 1.78 ERA on the season.

Granville's Max Hall, Newark's Michael Kopachy and Licking Heights' Peyton Clum helped the Ohio Bison 15U Kopachy win a championship in Dayton on July 6.

Kopachy hit .500 for the tournament and is batting .429 on the season. Hall hit .417 and drove in four runs during the tournament and now is hitting .311 for the season.

Other team members include Caleb Hollins (Zanesville), Andrew Miller (Amanda-Clearcreek), Carson Kiger (Berne Union), Nate Roberts (Gahanna), Greyson Schultz (Ridgewood), Colton Hall (Gahanna), Jack DeWeese (Westerville South), Vinny Messana (Genoa Christian), Nolan Landefeld (Highland) and Kaden Farris (Gahanna).
