There isn’t a coach quite like Connecticut Huskies head coach Dan Hurley. Whether it’s his on-court success and accomplishments or the unique personality he brings every game, Hurley has found a way to make it all work.

Once a player at Seton Hall with NBA dreams that never fully materialized, Hurley faced a difficult and uncertain period during his college years.

“In a way, I wasn’t sure if I would ever play again,” Hurley said, reflecting on his struggles after his sophomore season. “Basketball was really making me feel bad about myself—my failures and struggles—because my brother [Bobby] was winning national championships and heading to the NBA, and I couldn’t get out of my own way. We both did the same drills, played for the same coach. I just couldn’t handle the failure after all the time I invested.”

Now, more than two decades later, Hurley has found his calling as the head basketball coach at UConn. He has led the Huskies to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, two Big East titles, and back-to-back national championships in 2023 and 2024.

With such an intriguing journey of highs and lows, it was announced months ago that Hurley would release a book titled "Never Stop: Life, Leadership, and What It Takes to Be Great," co-written with Ian O’Connor.

The book is set to be released on Sept. 30, and it’s now available for preorder on Barnes & Noble—news that sparked a strong reaction from Hurley on Tuesday.

"This has been a fun and thorough project to work on," Hurley wrote on Tuesday. "Its helped my perspective by retracing my steps and by being so honest about the journey…I hope it inspires, helps, and entertains a lot of people!"

Fans reacted to Hurley's post:
