The Florida Gators had the No. 10 overall recruiting class for the 2025 cycle on On3 Sports.
The class was led by five-star receiver Vernell Brown III, four-star corner Ben Hanks III and four-star receiver Dallas Wilson.
Joel Klatt focused on the impact Wilson could have at Florida this season on a recent episode of "The Joel Klatt Show." He thought Wilson could be a "real factor" in the 2025 season for the Gators.
Wilson was an in-state product, hailing from Tampa, Florida, out of Tampa Bay Tech.
He is listed at 6-foot-2.75, 193 pounds, and was the No. 8 wide receiver in the 2025 class.
"DJ Lagway, he looks like a potential star," Klatt said. "Has some weapons on the outside. Five-star true freshman Dallas Wilson. I think he could be a real factor early in the year. ...I think Billy Napier has done an excellent job. You look at how hot his seat was at the beginning of the season, and then what they were able to do, and now with momentum moving forward."
Florida has some holes to fill in its receiving corps after losing Chimere Dike and Elijhah Badger to the NFL. The Gators did, however, add former UCLA Bruins wide receiver J. Michael Sturdivant from the transfer portal.
The Gators were a topic of discussion for Klatt, as he ranked them at No. 9 on his list of top 10 teams that could make their first College Football Playoff appearance with the format now expanded to 12 teams.
Speaking of recruiting, Florida has made quite the impression with five-star offensive tackle Kennedy Brown from the 2027 class. Brown is the top offensive tackle in the class.
Wilson and Florida begin the 2025 season with a matchup against Long Island on August 30.
