Quinten Joyner’s first season at Texas Tech will have to wait.

Joyner tore his ACL on Monday, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. While specifics of the injury are not known, he’ll now miss the entire 2025 season recovering.

Joyner transferred into Texas Tech this past offseason after spending his first two seasons at USC. He racked up 478 rushing yards and had four total touchdowns with the Trojans last season.

The Texas native opted to move back to the state and join Texas Tech this fall, where he was expected to be a key piece of its offense. The Red Raiders, who opened at No. 23 in the AP preseason poll, will take on Arkansas-Pine Bluff in their season opener on Aug. 30.
