A plethora of moves were announced ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers series opener. With the Cincinnati Reds coming to town, Reds fans are a bit down as they just lost their 22-year-old Chase Burns.

Milwaukee is on the opposite side of the spectrum. News has been revealed regarding the Brewers 23-year-old sensation, Jacob Misiorowski.

Having last started on July 28, a comebacker against the Chicago Cubs put "The Miz" on the 15-Day IL. Approaching a franchise record winning streak, Brewers fans have a lot to be thankful for leading up to their next three-game division slate.

Jacob Misiorowski Activated From 15-Day IL

Brewers fans rejoiced as their latest homegrown pitcher is returning to the mound. Misiorowski has yet to start against the Reds in his career. If he does start on August 15, which he is slated to, it will complete his NL Central cycle.

Misiorowski made his MLB debut on June 12 against the St. Louis Cardinals. Just two starts later, he pitched a five inning gem against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Knowing that his most recent start was against the Cubs, all that's needed is a Reds start to have faced every division opponent in just eight games.

Misiorowski needed just five starts before being named to his first All-Star appearance. It's a decision that was met with backlash, but the Brewers hard-throwing righty played well in Atlanta.

Pat Murphy just limited Brandon Woodruff to four innings as it was his first start on only four days rest. The reigning Manger of the Year will likely do the same with Misiorowski who hasn't pitched in two and a half weeks.

It's important to note that no rehab starts were needed for Misiorowski. The Brewers were thrilled with his progress and immediately brought him back to Milwaukee.

Misiorowski being called up sent Grant Anderson to Triple-A Nashville. Anderson has appeared in 53 games for the Brewers this season. The reliever has a 2-3 record with a 3.07 ERA in 58.2 innings pitched.

Milwaukee Makes Four Other Roster Moves

Not everything announced by the Brewers was good news. Isaac Collins was placed on the paternity list which will see him miss the Reds series. Fellow outfielder, Blake Perkins, was placed on bereavement list. His return date is unknown.

Down a pair of outfielders, Steward Berrora was recalled from AAA. The outfielder joins Tyler Black who returns to Milwaukee. In total, six moves were made ahead of the series opener.
